Adoption Process
Thank you for considering the Westfield Homeless Cat Project for your new family member’s adoption. While we ensure all cats in our care have a safe and comfortable home for as long as needed, our primary aim is to find them a loving forever home.
Our application process is tailored to match our cats and kittens with the most compatible families. We conduct interviews with potential adopters, asking about your home, family, current pets, and daily routines. Rest assured, these questions are essential for ensuring the success of our adoptions.
While falling in love with a cat is easy, adopting is a significant decision. Your new feline friend will demand time, money, and a commitment for the next 10-20 years. Before making this decision, please reflect on it carefully, ask questions, and discuss it with all family members.
All cats and kittens are spayed/neutered, receive vaccinations, FIV/FeLV testing, flea treament and dewormed.
Eligibility
To be eligible as an adopter, we request that you complete an adoption application. All information must be is filled out accurately and completely for us to process your application. All applicants must be at least 21 years old and are required to submit a copy of a government-issued ID (driver’s license, state ID, passport) with their name and photo along with their application.
Veterinary References
Prior to sending your adoption application, please contact your veterinary office and grant them permission to speak with us regarding your current and previous pets listed on your application. If you don’t currently have a veterinarian, please find one in your area that is accepting new clients. Let us know the name and phone number of the veterinarian you’ll be using for your new feline friend.
Adoption Application
You can fill out the application online and email it to us for an expedited process. Alternatively, you can visit us during adoption hours and complete the application in person.
Processing Time
It takes a minimum of 5 business days to process your application. If you haven’t received a response within this timeframe, please contact us for a status update.
